There is no magic to it, it’s all about the way you approach your small farming adventure..? If you want to know why you cannot make a profit and can’t seem to make it right..? Let me tell you what you are doing wrong.
Little About Me & How I got Here
My name is Craig I’m 45 years of age. I am the owner of “Pygmy Farm” which is a new startup farm. This is also a new “Blogging Adventure” for me. Please bear with me until I get to grasp’s with the whole blogging idea.
I assure you I will in no time. This may be my first farm but not my first business. I have been in business for myself my whole working life. I have never worked for anyone but myself.
I don’t come from any sort of “Money” and certainly wasn’t born with a “Silver Spoon” that’s for sure.
Leaving school at age 13 and never having the luxury of family money to rely on. I had to try and earn money from a very early age.
I come from a low-income council estate in the UK and it had around a 70% unemployment rate. I was raised around violence, drugs, and all sorts of criminal behaviour.
So when I say, If I can do this you can too and I mean it.
But I did have a good family home. I have to be grateful for that.
Enough of that let’s get on with it…
I am starting my small farming business from scratch and it is no different from starting any other business. Just like the other business I have now, there are a few secrets to success.
Follow me as I show you how to make a small farm profitable. Into a business that not only survives but thrives.
My Full-Time Business
I have had and been involved in many businesses from “Mail Order In Magazines” before the Internet boom to “Designer Clothing Stores”, selling all the top brands including Prada, Armani, Hugo Boss, Etc.
Even when I was young I used to collect “Scrap Metal” also anything I could get my hands on to buy and sell for profit.
I have learned many things in my life. Things that I know will make this business profitable in the first 2 years.
My main business also teaches me so much that helps me with the building & construction of my small farm. The fact, I have built all the buildings, fencing, and concreting, myself helps. Much of it with free or very cheap materials, etc.
This does not mean my buildings are built from cheap crappy materials or look cheap. I make a point that all my buildings are built to last and they look great.
After all, you only want to construct your buildings once. I will show you how I did it. In fact, you can check out my post on “How To Find Cheap Building Materials”
How I Got Into Small Farming
I first got interested in small farming in my spare time as a hobby helping an older farmer several years ago. That was the main reason I wanted to start my own small farming adventure I could see there was money to be had.
Money brings a good way of life and a healthy life also.
After I started helping my now very good farmer friend “Tony” and understanding just by looking from the outside and talking to other farmers.
I was introduced to many farmers through my friend and they were all making money. They seem to know every farmer for miles around and could get their hands on most things. It is like being in a club that has benefits.
They would even tell me it was easier to make money from smaller farms than from larger ones. The main reason was that you can change and adapt a lot faster than on a larger farm. But we will get into that later.
Get Yourself A Mentor If Possible Even If It’s Online
I would advise this to anyone looking to start a small farm before you go jumping in the deep end. You need knowledge that only comes from others that came before you.
But running any business is the same and if you apply what I will be teaching in my “Blog” and “YouTube Channel”. Then there is no reason you cannot succeed also.
This Blog will give you the knowledge & skills needed before starting out on your own. Believe me, you are going to need it when you start your small farm. It’s not going to be easy but you can do anything if you put your mind to it.
